Orange YOU Stylish!: I Wish I Knew. . .

Hello Readers,

Recently, I've been trying to be a bit more adventurous with my wardrobe. Nothing crazy, just a bit more color. In the past, more color has meant more purple, green, or blue. Lovely colors, but nothing out of the ordinary for me.

Woah!

In my quest for adventure, I purchased one dress in two colors with the intention of choosing one and returning the other. (I wrote a post about this, enlisting help in this decision). Of the two colors, despite my readers' recommendations, I chose pink (well, more of a fuschia) over orange. Although bright pink/fuschia  is a brave addition to my wardrobe, I admit that orange would have been the braver choice.

The primary reason I did not choose orange was because I wasn't sure how to style this color. In a reply to my post regarding this decision, my friend Mary asked for recommendations on this matter. I don't have an answer, yet, but I hope to find and make recommendations over the next few days.

What do YOU wear with orange?
Join me in this adventure! If YOU have any suggestions, please feel free to leave a comment on this or future posts. (I love comments!)

I Will Not Let the Sniffles Stifle My Style!

watch out, I'll sneeze on you!

Hello Readers,

Monday, it began with a seemingly harmless case of the sniffles. By Tuesday morning, I felt like I was hit by a train. Runny nose, itchy eyes, a general feeling of achiness, groggy voice, and a slight chill.

I planned an outfit for yesterday, but instead I resorted to comfort: my North Face jacket, an old pair of jeans, and a long sleeve nondescript knit top, and ballet flats. When I went to Walgreens to get medicine (and maybe a bit of clearance Valentine's Day chocolates), they were out of Sudafed! Out of Sudafed? Yes- out of Sudafed. So, I settled for a substitute which seems to be working just as well.

When I woke up this morning, I felt alive enough to do my Cardio Pilates DVD- so no need to worry readers! It appears that I am on the mend! Inspired by the workout, I decided to dress up today despite my sniffles. And this is what I wore:

I look amazing, I know. . .

Anthro- It's Not You, It's Me

Dear Anthropologie,

Let me begin by thanking you for the lovely clothing you create and sell. Your store is so lovely, but I think we need to spend some time apart.

You see, I really wish that we could spend more time together, and that more of your clothing could befriend my clothing, but my graduate school stipend does not permit me to spend as much money on your clothes as I or you would like me to spend. When I am done with graduate school, and I have a job, I promise that we can spend more time together.

Please know that there will always be room for your merchandise in my closet- but for the time being my stipend restricts the amount of clothing I can spend at your store. I look forward to browsing your sales, websites, and catalogues for the time being, and I sincerely look forward to investing more in your collections when I have a full time job.

Thank you for the great times and stylish wardrobe!

Sincerely,

Laura
