AG Gift Card Winner. . . (And More Love for StL)

And our winner is. . .

Michelle!!! Her favorite place in St. Louis is the Zoo on a cold day, sans crowds- how smart!  I believe there are still a few opportunities to visit the St. Louis Zoo in Forest Park on a cold day before Spring weather is in full bloom.

Other mentions in the entries included: Forest Park (which is bigger than Central Park), the main quad on the campus of Washington University, Big Bang (piano bar), Dewey's Pizza (delicious!), a middle school, and the Missouri Botanical Garden- all wonderful places!

Where are my favorite St. Louis places?  Well there are many, but these are just a couple:

The Botanical Gardens (also Hannah's favorite!):
I love these glass bulbs at the Gardens!

Waterfalls are wonderful!
 Forest Park:
The Basin (at the foot of Art Hill)- there is something about this spot that is so tranquil and calming.

Congratulations Michelle!!!

Drumroll Please. . . .

And we have a winner!

Thank you everyone who entered my contest! I enjoyed reading everyone's favorite flowers: hyacinths, tulips, sunflowers, hydrangeas, lilacs, amnesia roses, the siale Tonga, the Queen Elizabeth hybrid rose. What connoisseurs of flowers you all are Readers! I am impressed!

Congratulations to the winner of this giveaway: Anna J.! Her favorite flowers were tulips and hydrangeas.

Anna and I met a few years ago when we were both bridesmaids to our mutual friend, Jessica in her December 2005 wedding. We bonded over wearing the same dress, getting our nails and hair done, and being there to see our friend get married- a bridesmaid bond.

So, you can imagine my delight when the name I drew out of the hat was Anna's! I did a bit of "investigating" (aka stalking) and read her blog, Just a Smidge and a Pinch, and it is quite lovely (this is my favorite post).

Congratulations Anna!!!

PS- some of my favorite flowers are these:
Bourganvilla

Roses

Peonies

Water Lilies

And We Have a Winner!

Happy Saturday Readers!

We have a winner! As promised, I drew a name/comment out of a hat and here is the winner:

Congratulations Katie!!!

Thank you to everyone who entered- I enjoyed reading about your favorite romantic movies!!! The Princess Bride, Sense and Sensibility, Love Actually, Notting Hill, Almost Famous, Mulan, and Pearl Harbor- all of these are great movies!

I've had an entire week to think about what my favorite romantic movie is, and I've had a difficult time choosing just one movie. I love movies, especially romantic movies, and my favorite movie seems to change on a regular basis. On Valentine's Day I watched Breakfast At Tiffany's, which was wonderful, but it isn't my favorite romantic movie.

Recently, I've also enjoyed Letters to Juliet, Fireproof, Wedding Singer, An Affair to Remember, Cranford, and quite a few others. But when I think of my favorite romantic movie, the first one that I think of (every time) is Pride and Prejudice.

The book stole my heart, the BBC miniseries brought the story to life, and the most recent version made me love this love story even more. What do I love about the story? Although the book has two very clear protagonists (Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy), they are not the entire focus of this story. As readers and viewers of this tale, we get to see other relationships: between the Bennet sisters, Jane and Mr. Bingly, Mr. and Mrs. Bennet. There's an entire network of love on a variety of levels. And I think that is what I love most about this story, and about this movie.

Have a wonderful weekend Readers!
